Jen and Vince's Amicable Aquarius-Aries Breakup

Was it astrologically inevitable that Break-Up stars Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn would break up in real life? Back in February, I predicted that Jen and Vince were just having fun but would not make it for the long haul. {Full story} Then, in March, I noted the strong (temporary) resonance between Jen's progressed chart and Vince's natal chart, with her progressed Sun in early Aries just conjuncting his natal Sun. {Full story} But a connection to the progressed chart can signify that a partner is Mr. Right Now rather than Mr. Right, and as Jen's progressed Sun has drifted out of orb of aspect to Vince's Sun, it would seem the couple has drifted apart.

The split comes as transiting Saturn in Leo is opposing Jen's natal Aquarius Sun, forcing her to take stock of who she is—and possibly bringing her to the realization that she doesn't have much long-term common ground with Vince. See Jennifer Aniston's birth chart (Astrotheme)

Transiting Saturn is also forming a grand trine with Jen's natal Moon and Saturn in fire signs, making it relatively easy for her to make a clean break emotionally. This configuration may also herald a creative renaissance for Jen, especially if she really pushes herself to let a new facet of her personality shine through in her acting.

Meanwhile, Vince has transiting Mercury, Mars and Jupiterpassing over his Neptune, signifying that he may be in escapist mode right now, ready to live the jet-set life and party to avoid reality. Jupiter moves into a trine with Vince's Sun at year's end, opening up new personal frontiers for him. See Vince Vaughn's birth chart (Astrotheme)

This couple does not seem too traumatized to be going their separate ways. It's not like the aspects between their horoscopes suggest a turbulent, melodramatic romance; as I originally noted back in February, their relationship seemed more like a fun lark that was destined to end. Somehow I doubt either will take long to move on.

Any thoughts on who Jen and/or Vince should date next? Post a comment and I'll check out the birth charts for any intriguing possibilities!

Is Jennifer Aniston Pregnant?

For major celebs, pregnancy rumors seem to pop up at regular intervals. To wit, when I Googled "jennifer aniston pregnant," I found two separate breathless announcements from 2004 that she and Brad Pitt were thisclose to announcing their beautiful little bun in the oven.

But this time, photo evidence is kinda hard to dismiss. In photos from recent Break-Up premieres, Jennifer Aniston, the woman whose abs are usually practically concave (or is it convex?) is now sporting a pooch that, while modest when judged against the midsections of most American women, qualifies her as morbidly obese by Friends-women standards. {Source: ONTD}

Granted, if your ex was the sexiest man on earth and the sexiest woman on earth had just given birth to his baby, you might hole up in your hotel room with enough Haagen-Dazs and tequila to produce a gut in a matter of weeks. (I mean really, can't all you haters show the woman a little sympathy? Jeeze.) But I took a look at Jen's horoscope, as well as her progressed chart, and really, it is just possible that she and Vince Vaughn could be trying to keep up with Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Over the past couple of years, Jen has definitely been going through a tough time, and is wary of trusting again. In her progressed chart, which shows where a person has evolved in his or her life, Jen's Sun has entered Aries, the sign of the individual, and is approaching a conjunction to Chiron, the planetoid that symbolizes wounding. With this Sun-Chiron conjunction, she feels damaged, like something is fundamentally wrong with her, and that she is on her own. (Jen, I recommend Tara Brach's book Radical Acceptance.)

In her progressed chart, Jennifer's Venus turned retrograde in Aries in early 2003... perhaps around the time she and Brad started to grow apart? It is now moving toward a conjunction with progressed Saturn, which sits on her natal 7th house (partnership) cusp, showing her extreme wariness toward trusting anyone but herself or entering into another relationship.

Yet in the face of all this, Jen is constantly reminding herself to be optimistic about love, with Jupiter in Libra opposing her Sun. Jupiter is conjunct Uranus, which brings the urge to be impulsive and unpredictable in expressing oneself. And it is also worth noting that Jen's progressed Sun at 0° Aries (the start point of the zodiac, symbolizing new beginnings) is coming toward a conjunction with Vince's natal Sun at 6° Aries, while her progressed Venus at 26° Aries retrogrades toward a conjunction with Vince's natal Venus at 24° Aries. Jen is still in a lot of pain from her last relationship, but she is excited about connecting with Vince and trying something new. And as time goes on and she settles into the relationship, she seems in some ways to be growing more like him, coming around to his relationship style. With natal Mars in Scorpio coming to the Ascendant of the progressed chart, Jen wants to be seen as more impulsive, dynamic and passionate.

Yes, yes, you say, but what does all this have to do with babies? Well, Venus is in the 5th house (children) of Jennifer's progressed chart, though it has been there for several years, and the progressed Sun is in the 4th house of home and family, so after all she's been through, she is still looking to settle down into stability and be on solid ground at this point in her life.

And looking at her transits, retrograde Pluto is about to stop just short of a conjunction to her Moon, representing the emotions as well as one's attitude about motherhood. Jen has been reevaluating her feelings about motherhood over the past couple of years as Pluto passes back and forth over her Moon. As it makes its last close pass, has Jen finally decided to take the life-changing leap into parenthood? See Jennifer Aniston's birth chart (Astrotheme) Certainly, the fact that Jen's Moon conjuncts Brad Pitt's Sun is absolutely coincidental and would signify nothing about his influence on her decision to have a baby.

Incidentally, in Vince's chart, transiting retrograde Jupiter is 6° away from his natal retrograde Jupiter in the 1st house, signifying good luck that comes in unusual ways (e.g. the unexpected success of The Break-Up), and Saturn (which represents fatherhood as well as responsibility) is squaring his natal Saturn. So perhaps Vince, who does seem like an unlikely candidate for family man, is challenging himself to take on a new level of adult responsibility. See Vince Vaughn's birth chart (Astrotheme)

Obviously, time will tell whether Jen Pilates-es off that pooch or whether it blossoms into a full-blown bump. While I am clearly biased in favor of the creation of more celebrity babies, as they are this blog's bread and butter, I for one would like to see these two bring a little Vinnifer into the world. With all that Aries between the two of them, they are each focused on themselves as individuals, and having a baby would likely put all those things they angst about now (their abs, her hair) into perspective. Stay tuned!

Wedding Rumors for Jen and Vince

Say whaaaat? Perez Hilton, to whom I am indebted as a source for so many items lately, is now reporting that Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn, not to be outdone by Brangelina, are secretly planning to wed:

We've just had two people - independent of each other - tell us that Jennifer Aniston is planning a surprise wedding to Vince Vaughn THIS SUNDAY at the Montecito, CA, home of Oprah Winfrey. [Source]

This is kind of a delicious prospect -- I especially love the Oprah touch, since she's, like, the only person in America, or at least Hollywood, more well respected than George Clooney, who is purportedly lending his blessing to the Brangelina nuptials. And I've always thought Jen and Vince were kinda hot together, even though part of me wonders if their relationship is a look-I've-moved-on-too sham for the cameras. In my birthday forecast for Jennifer Aniston this past February, I predicted that she and Vince were not in it for the long haul but were just having fun. But now that I have obtained Vince's birth time from the fantastique French astrology site Astrotheme, I see that Jen and he are more simpatico than I thought! Their Libra Ascendants are conjunct, and so are their Sagittarius Moons, a sign that they are in synch emotionally and in terms of personality. [See Jennifer Aniston's birth chart (Astrotheme) | See Vince Vaughn's birth chart (Astrotheme)] Awww! Could this be true love after all -- or just the ultimate screw-you to Brad?

Well, Jen's progressed chart at this time does show a bit of a screw-you mentality... There is a strong Aries influence there, as her progressed Sun has just moved into Aries, the first sign of the zodiac -- and Vince's natal Sun sign. Mars-ruled Aries are impulsive, assertive and action-oriented, and while Jen will always be a detached Aquarius at her core, the Aries influence is seen in how she has loosened up and let her hair down since getting together with Vince. The Aries influence in Jen's progressed chart is underscored by natal Mars approaching a conjunction with the progressed Ascendant.

But the Aries impulsiveness doesn't tell the whole story -- there is also a real chip on Jen's shoulder, as seen by the progressed Sun's conjunction to natal and progressed Chiron. Scorpio rising in the progressed chart shows a bit of a vengeful or defensive outlook on life, and especially with Mars conjuncting the Ascendant from the lurking-under-the-surface 12th house, Jen has a real potential to lash out against those who hurt her or even to strike preemptively if she feels threatened.

This Sunday, March 19, the Sun in the final degree of Pisces -- the last gasp of winter before the spring equinox -- will be approaching a conjunction to Jen's progressed Sun and her natal Chiron. That afternoon and evening, the Moon in Scorpio will pass over Jen's Mars and through her progressed 1st house. The Sun in both Jen and Vince's 5th house of romance is nice, and maybe it would be fitting for them to marry with the Sun in Pisces since the Sun in their composite chart, which describes the relationship, is in Pisces. But I can't shake the feeling that a wedding taking place on Sunday would be one that happened for the wrong reasons. The emphasis on Scorpio and the impulsive Aries urge to be first suggests a revenge-driven race to the altar rather than a true romantic connection. Maybe it will happen for Jen and Vince someday, but this doesn't strike me as the right time for them to wed.

Aniston Rising

Say what you will about Jennifer Aniston; the girl has had a tough year. On the occasion of her 37th birthday tomorrow, February 11, I took a look at her solar return chart to see what 2006 has in store for the relentlessly perky Aquarius.

After a publicly tumultuous 2005 during which she struggled to find her ground, Jen hits her stride with this birthday. Her solar return chart shows all four angles in the same signs as they are in her birth chart (Aries rising, Cancer Midheaven), which suggests that this year she will come into her own, feeling comfortable and confident with who she is. Jupiter in Scorpio is rising, lending her an optimistic outlook (if perhaps a cautious one). Venus in long-term-planner Capricorn conjunct the 4th house cusp of home and foundation suggests that this year Jen could put down roots by purchasing a permanent home.

Indicators for romance and/or pregnancy are mixed. The Sun is conjunct the 5th house cusp of romance, creativity and childbearing, so Jen could have her heart set on a sweetheart and/or babies. And the Moon is in romantic Leo, which rules the 5th house, another maternal indicator. But the Moon is in the 10th house of career, conjunct Saturn, the planet of responsibility and limitation. So Jen's jones for true love and babies could once again run into roadblocks due to her professional life and her desire to be in the spotlight. Saturn opposes Chiron in Aquarius in the 4th house, suggesting Jennifer's ability to open her heart could be limited by her fear of getting hurt again -- and publicly.

Will Vince be the man to heal her wounds? Well, his Venus trines her Moon and conjuncts her 7th house cusp of relationships as well as her Saturn, suggesting she feels like she can rely on him and he really cares for her. And his Sun and Mercury are conjunct her Venus, so there is easy communication in their relationship. He is supportive of her and gets an ego boost from her affections. Furthermore, their Moons are both in Sagittarius (though out of orb of a conjunction), so they are emotionally simpatico and have a lot of fun together. Still, with all that said, two Venus in Aries and Moon in Sagittarius people are not the most commitment-bound couple. There's a lot of fire in this relationship, but not much grounding it (except perhaps Vince's loyal Mars in Taurus, in mutual reception with his Venus). It may be that Jen is enjoying the passionate sparks of their connection, and Vince is bringing out the impulsive, adventurous side of her Aries and Sag planets. But living in the moment may be part of the appeal of this match. They're enjoying the now, but over time, the sparks may fizzle.
